Truck campers come in varied sizes and you'll need to make certain that yours is a good and secure fit. To put the camper in, you'll need to be in a position to take the tailgate or put it down so that you can slide it in. It might not be for everyone--especially if you've got more than 2 folks in your group. But, for those weekend soldiers it could be the ideal fit.
